Carnivals in the UK
Many British towns, cities and villages have carnivals every year. There are lots of different types of carnival, but they typically involve street parades, performers in colourful costumes, floats (large decorated vehicles) and music. There are often stalls selling food and drink.
The UK’s most famous carnival is the Notting Hill Carnival, which takes place over two days. Every year around 50,000 performers take part in the carnival. More than a million people go to watch it.
